Salicylic acid powder is a common ingredient in skincare products due to its ability to exfoliate the skin and treat acne. It is available in powder form for use in various skincare formulations.

Salicylic acid powder is a white crystalline powder, odorless, and tastes slightly bitter before turning pungent. The melting point is 157-159 ℃, and it gradually changes color under light. The relative density is 1.44. The boiling point is about 211 ℃ /2.67kpa. Sublimation at 76 ℃. It is rapidly heated and decomposed into phenol and carbon dioxide under normal pressure. 1g salicylic acid can be dissolved in 460ml water, 15ml boiling water, 2.7ml ethanol, 3ml acetone, 3ml ether, 42ml chloroform, 135ml benzene, 52ml turpentine, about 60ml glycerol and 80ml petroleum ether, respectively. Adding sodium phosphate, borax, etc. can increase the solubility of salicylic acid in water. The pH value of salicylic acid aqueous solution is 2.4. Salicylic acid and ferric chloride aqueous solution form a special purple color.

Efficacy of Salicylic acid powder

Salicylic acid is generally able to resist fungi, keratinization and remove the aged cuticle of the skin.

1. Antifungal: salicylic acid can usually play an anti bacteriostatic role, inhibit fungi, and play a certain auxiliary role in the treatment of skin fungal infection or psoriasis.
