Resveratrol powder, a non flavonoid polyphenol organic compound, is an antitoxin produced by many plants when stimulated. Its chemical formula is c14h12o3. It can be synthesized in grape leaves and grape skins. It is a bioactive ingredient in wine and grape juice. It is easily absorbed orally and excreted in urine and feces after metabolism. In vitro and animal experiments show that resveratrol has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticancer and cardiovascular protective effects.

Resveratrol powder (3-4'-5-trihydroxystilbene) is a non flavonoid polyphenol compound, whose chemical name is 3,4', 5-trihydroxy-1,2-diphenylethylene (3,4', 5-stilbene), molecular formula is c14h12o3, molecular weight is 228.25. The pure product of resveratrol is white to light yellow powder, tasteless, poorly soluble in water, easily soluble in ether, chloroform, methanol, ethanol, acetone, ethyl acetate and other organic solvents, melting point 253 ~ 255 ℃, sublimation temperature 261 ℃. It can show red color with alkaline solution such as ammonia water, and can produce color reaction with ferric chloride potassium ferricyanide. Resveratrol can be identified by using this property.

Natural resveratrol has CIS and trans structures. In nature, it mainly exists in trans conformation. The two structures can be combined with glucose to form CIS and trans resveratrol glycosides. The CIS and trans resveratrol glycosides can release resveratrol under the action of glycosidases in the intestine. Under UV irradiation, trans resveratrol can be converted into cis isomers.

Role and efficacy of resveratrol powder

1. Senile macular degeneration. Resveratrol can inhibit vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and VEGF inhibitor is a method to treat macula.

2. Regulate blood glucose. Diabetic patients are prone to arteriosclerosis, leading to a series of complications, increasing the probability of myocardial infarction and stroke. Resveratrol can improve fasting blood glucose, insulin and glycated hemoglobin in diabetic patients.

3. Reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Resveratrol can improve the relaxation function of endothelial cells, improve a variety of inflammatory factors, reduce the factors causing thrombosis, and prevent cardiovascular disease.

4. Ulcerative colitis. Ulcerative colitis is a chronic inflammation caused by immune dysfunction. Resveratrol has excellent reactive oxygen species scavenging ability, improves the body's total antioxidant capacity and superoxide dismutase concentration, and regulates immune function.

5. Improve cognitive function. Taking resveratrol can help improve memory performance and hippocampal gyrus connectivity, protect nerve cells and slow cognitive degradation in Alzheimer's disease and other senile dementia.
